Most people talk to their dog as if the dog already understands the human language they are speaking. What they don’t realize they are doing is creating associations to behaviors they don’t want associated with the word they are saying. When a dog is barking at the window, the human will yell “be quiet” while the dog is barking. The more that happens, the more “be quiet!” actually means keep barking because a dog only hears it when he’s barking which makes the association. Instead, I would pract
